https://publikasi.teknokrat.ac.id/index.php/jeltl/article/view/345

Including information and communication technology (ICT) instruments in classroom instruction has recently become an essential requirement for teachers. Examining the effect of ICT tools on English language skills is necessary (Goh & Sigala, 2020). Consequently, the study sought to check the effectiveness of ICT when English learned by students who study online classes. The researcher utilized a questionnaire survey to determine how well students thought ICTs were utilized to teach English skills. A total of 790 high school students completed the survey and the appended questions in the questionnaire. The results indicated no differences are significant in the perceptions of students about using ICT tools due to residence. The results of the Pearson correlation were highly significant. The results indicated that students face frequent problems such as poor internet connectivity, insufficient time, insufficient ICT tool knowledge, boredom, unfamiliarity with ICT applications, cultural barriers, distractions, electrical breakdown, incomplete content understanding and poor technological skills. The results of the students’ perceptions suggested several solutions to these problems, such as opening webcams, upgrading Internet speeds, providing the necessary training sessions, giving students enough time to access the network, using the latest versions, being more serious, and providing technical support.

HUSAM QADDUMI

https://publikasi.teknokrat.ac.id/index.php/jeltl/article/view/190

Research on Artificial Intelligence is not hindered in all fields including English learning. Publications in this field increases each year, yet the mapping is not depicted clearly yet. Thus, this study tries to provide the mapping on artificial intelligence in English learning within the last 20 years. This present study employed a bibliometrics analysis involving Scopus-indexed research articles within 20 years (2003-2023). As many as 1.661 articles were used by the researchers with the keywords of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, English learning, education, and English language. Focusing on some foci, the results show that: [1] Artificial Intelligence in relation to natural language processing, learning systems, and machine learning are three big research trends of AI in English learning; [2] The number of publications increases each year from 2003 to 2023 with 6 publications in 2003 and 333 publications in 2023; [3] Top five countries conducting research of AI in English learning are China (512 publications), United States (230 publications), India (171 publications), United Kingdom (91 publications), and Germany (60 publications); [4] The affiliations with most publications are Peking University (14), Soochow University (12), Chinese Academy of Sciences (11), CNRS Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (10), and University of Toronto (10); [5] The subject areas of these research studies are Computer Science (1,176), Mathematics (398), Engineering (374), Medicine (256), and Social Sciences (221). Implications of the investigation of specific keyword mapping visualization results can be created and enhanced for more studies in Scopus-indexed especially in Indonesia as they are still considered rare in Indonesia.
Rizky AmeliaAneta RakhmawatiNuruddin WirandaFatchul MuinRusma NoortyaniSiti Kustini

https://publikasi.teknokrat.ac.id/index.php/jeltl/article/view/366

The English proficiency matriculation program is a mandatory requirement for all new students at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. This program aims to equip students with foundational English knowledge and skills. However, both the modules and the teaching process have thus far been conducted in a conventional, monotonous manner, with limited innovative developments introduced. Therefore, this study seeks to develop an English matriculation module based on critical digital pedagogy a technology-based module that emphasizes not only mastery of basic English language skills but also cultivates students' critical awareness of the importance of English in today's technological era. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The participants in this study are first-semester students from the English Education program at UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Each stage of the module development will be tested to evaluate its efficiency, effectiveness, and quality standards. This critical digital pedagogy-based English matriculation module is expected to serve as an alternative approach that aligns with the current digitalization trends within Islamic State Universities.
Mohammad Fikri Nugraha KholidMohammad Ridho Kholid

https://publikasi.teknokrat.ac.id/index.php/jeltl/article/view/248

This research is a systematic literature review that aims to find out what are the English language skills that can be improved through songs for EFL students. This research followed the PRISMA 2020 guideline statement for systematic literature reviews, by investigating articles from SCOPUS and Google Scholar databases (2015 - 2025). Out of the many studies, 15 studies were considered suitable for this review. Based on the analysis of previous studies, it was found that songs have a positive impact on improving language skills, including speaking, listening, writing, vocabulary acquisition, and pronunciation. Songs provide authentic, fun and memorable language exposure due to their repetitive and contextual. Besides that, songs also help to increase learning motivation, self-confidence, and create a more relaxed and enjoyable learning atmosphere. This finding shows that songs can be used as one of the effective learning media. Therefore, teachers are suggested to integrate songs in the learning process to support the improvement of students' English language skills.
Anisah AlmauizzahAprilia Devi Hindriana
