Abstract

Understanding gender roles and functions is crucial in everyday life. It helps individuals understand and appreciate their own roles and functions, as well as those of others, in society. Understanding gender roles and functions is crucial for high school adolescents, as they are in the process of forming their identity and finding their place in society. Without a proper understanding of gender roles and functions, adolescents will struggle to find their identity and interact with others. Literature can be an effective way to introduce the concept of appropriate gender roles and functions. It can provide relevant and engaging examples. Through literature, adolescents can learn about the various gender roles and functions that exist in society. It allows them to interact with others who have different roles and functions. Furthermore, literature can help adolescents understand and appreciate differences within society and develop empathy and tolerance for others.
