Allegation of Research Misconduct

The journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity, academic honesty, and publication ethics. Allegations of research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate authorship, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, and other violations of ethical research practices, are treated seriously and assessed fairly, confidentially, and objectively.

Submission of Allegations

Allegations of research misconduct may be submitted by authors, reviewers, readers, researchers, institutions, or other parties who have reasonable grounds to believe that misconduct has occurred in a manuscript or published article. Reports should provide a clear description of the alleged misconduct and, where possible, supporting evidence or relevant documentation. The journal encourages reports to be submitted in good faith and with sufficient information to enable an appropriate assessment.

Initial Assessment and Investigation

Upon receiving an allegation, the Editor-in-Chief or an appointed editor will conduct an initial assessment to determine whether the concern falls within the journal's responsibility and whether sufficient information is available for further examination. If necessary, the journal may request clarification or additional evidence from the reporting party.

When further investigation is warranted, the journal may contact the corresponding author, relevant co-authors, reviewers, research institutions, or other appropriate parties. The individuals concerned will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond to the allegations. The journal will evaluate the available evidence impartially and will not assume that misconduct has occurred before the assessment is completed.

Confidentiality and Protection Against Retaliation

All allegations and related communications will be handled confidentially to the extent reasonably possible. Information will be shared only with individuals or institutions who need it for the assessment or investigation. The journal does not tolerate knowingly false, malicious, or deliberately misleading allegations and seeks to protect all parties involved from unnecessary reputational harm or retaliation during the process.

Possible Actions and Outcomes

Depending on the nature and severity of the findings, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Request clarification, supporting documents, or corrections from the authors.
  • Reject a manuscript that is under consideration for publication.
  • Publish a correction, clarification, or expression of concern for a published article, where appropriate.
  • Retract a published article when the evidence and circumstances justify retraction.
  • Refer the matter to the author's affiliated institution or another relevant body when further investigation is required.
  • Restrict future submissions or take other editorial measures when justified by the findings and consistent with the journal's policies.

Any action will be proportionate to the findings and guided by the principles of fairness, transparency, confidentiality, and research integrity. The journal will document the process and communicate the outcome to the relevant parties when appropriate.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research is conducted and reported honestly, accurately, and in accordance with applicable ethical standards. Authors must cooperate with reasonable editorial inquiries, provide relevant data or documentation when requested, and disclose any errors or concerns that may affect the reliability or integrity of their work.

Editorial Independence

Allegations of research misconduct will be assessed independently and without discrimination. Editorial decisions will be based on the available evidence, the seriousness of the alleged violation, and the journal's publication ethics policies. The journal may consult recognized publication ethics guidance, including guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), where relevant.

The journal is committed to safeguarding the integrity of the scholarly record. All allegations of research misconduct will be handled responsibly, with due consideration for the rights of the reporting party, the authors concerned, and the wider research community.
