Archiving

JATIKA (Jurnal Informatika dan Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak) is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and maintaining long-term access to research articles. Electronic archiving is an important part of JATIKA's publishing practices and is intended to reduce the risk of permanent content loss caused by technical failures, service interruptions, or changes in publishing infrastructure.

1. Digital Preservation

JATIKA maintains electronic copies of its published articles and associated publication metadata within its journal management and publishing systems. Reasonable measures are taken to protect digital content, maintain the integrity of published records, and support continued access to archived materials.

2. LOCKSS and CLOCKSS

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) are digital preservation initiatives that support long-term preservation of scholarly publications through distributed archiving. Participation in these services is implemented to ensure JATIKA's content is securely preserved across distributed archiving systems.

3. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

The Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) provides digital preservation services for eligible journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS). Where JATIKA is configured, eligible, and successfully participating in PKP PN, this service helps preserve journal content and support continued access if JATIKA's primary website becomes unavailable.

4. Backup and Recovery

JATIKA's publishing infrastructure is supported by appropriate backup and recovery procedures to reduce the risk of data loss. These procedures include backups of article files, publication metadata, and relevant system data, together with measures for restoring content following technical failures. Backup frequency, storage arrangements, and recovery procedures depend on JATIKA's hosting and technical configuration.

5. Long-Term Accessibility

JATIKA aims to maintain persistent access to published articles, including their bibliographic information and associated digital files. Where technically and legally feasible, preservation measures are intended to support the continued availability of the scholarly record even if JATIKA's website or publishing platform changes.

6. Access to Archived Content

Published articles remain accessible through JATIKA's website, subject to JATIKA's access policies and any applicable legal restrictions. If the primary website becomes temporarily unavailable, JATIKA will make reasonable efforts to restore access or provide alternative access to preserved content where such copies are available.

7. Policy Review

This policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect changes in digital preservation standards, publishing technology, and JATIKA's archiving arrangements. JATIKA will update this page when material changes are made to its electronic preservation practices.

Commitment to Digital Preservation

JATIKA recognizes the importance of preserving scholarly publications for future generations of researchers. JATIKA is committed to maintaining appropriate electronic archiving practices that support the integrity, continuity, and accessibility of its published research.
