Post-Publication Discussion

JATIKA (Jurnal Informatika dan Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak) recognizes that scholarly communication continues after an article is published. Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for researchers, readers, and other members of the academic community to raise questions, offer constructive criticism, clarify findings, and contribute to the ongoing evaluation of published research. JATIKA encourages respectful, evidence-based discussion that supports scientific progress and the integrity of the scholarly record.

1. Purpose and Scope

Post-publication discussion allows the scholarly community to engage critically with research published in JATIKA. Relevant contributions may include:

  • Questions about the methods, analysis, interpretation, or conclusions of a published article.
  • Evidence-based comments that clarify, challenge, or extend published findings.
  • Identification of potential errors, inconsistencies, or limitations in published work.
  • Discussion of the implications, reproducibility, or broader significance of research findings.
  • Suggestions for further research or alternative interpretations supported by scholarly evidence.

Contributions should be relevant to the article under discussion and should aim to improve scholarly understanding rather than promote personal disputes or unsupported allegations.

2. Submission of Comments

Readers who wish to comment on a published article may contact the editorial office using the official contact information provided on JATIKA's website. Submissions should identify the article being discussed and clearly explain the purpose of the comment. Authors of comments should provide supporting evidence and relevant references where appropriate. The editorial team may request revisions or additional information before considering a contribution for publication.

3. Editorial Assessment

The editorial team assesses submitted comments to determine their relevance, scholarly value, clarity, and compliance with JATIKA's publication ethics policies. Depending on the nature of the contribution, the editor may consult independent experts or request a response from the authors of the article being discussed.

JATIKA may accept, request revisions to, or decline a comment. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, evidence, relevance, and ethical considerations. Submission of a comment does not guarantee publication.

4. Right of Reply

When a published comment raises substantive questions or criticism concerning an article, JATIKA may invite the original authors to provide a response. The response should address the issues raised in a professional, evidence-based, and constructive manner. Where appropriate, the comment and the authors' response may be published together or linked to the original article to provide readers with balanced scholarly context.

5. Ethical and Professional Conduct

All participants in post-publication discussion are expected to observe professional standards and publication ethics. Contributions must be accurate, respectful, and supported by appropriate evidence.

JATIKA does not accept contributions that contain:

  • Personal attacks, harassment, discriminatory language, or abusive statements.
  • Unsubstantiated allegations of misconduct presented as established facts.
  • Plagiarized material or unauthorized use of others' work.
  • Confidential information disclosed without proper authorization.
  • Content intended primarily for commercial promotion or unrelated purposes.

Concerns about research integrity should be submitted to JATIKA's editorial office with supporting information and will be handled under JATIKA's relevant publication ethics procedures.

6. Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions

If a post-publication comment identifies a credible concern about the accuracy, reliability, or ethical integrity of a published article, JATIKA will assess the available evidence and take appropriate action where warranted. Depending on the findings, this may include publishing a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction in accordance with JATIKA's Correction and Retraction Policy. Comments alone do not automatically establish that an article is incorrect or require retraction.

7. Transparency and Publication

When a comment or response is accepted for publication, JATIKA will provide sufficient bibliographic information and, where possible, a link to the article under discussion. JATIKA aims to maintain a transparent scholarly record while respecting confidentiality, applicable legal requirements, and the rights of all parties involved.

8. Contacting the Editorial Office

Questions, comments, or concerns regarding published articles may be submitted to JATIKA's editorial office through the official contact details provided on JATIKA's website. Correspondence should include the article title, publication details, a clear description of the concern or comment, and supporting evidence where available.
