Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to JATIKA (Jurnal Informatika dan Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak) undergoes a rigorous editorial and peer-review process to ensure originality, scientific quality, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal's scope. JATIKA applies a Double-Blind Peer Review system, in which both authors' and reviewers' identities remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Peer Review Workflow

Step 1. Initial Editorial Screening & Plagiarism Check

The editorial team evaluates the manuscript for focus and scope, structural formatting, language quality, and ethical compliance. Plagiarism screening is conducted using Turnitin, requiring a similarity index of a maximum of 20% for the manuscript to proceed to peer review.

Step 2. Reviewer Assignment

Suitable manuscripts are assigned anonymously to at least two expert reviewers under the Double-Blind Peer Review policy.

Step 3. Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate originality, methodology, technical quality, novelty, references, ethical issues, discussion, conclusions, and overall contribution.

Step 4. Author Revision

Reviewer comments are returned to the corresponding author. Authors are requested to revise the manuscript and submit a response to reviewers.

Step 5. Editorial Decision & Final Check

Based on reviewers' recommendations and editorial evaluation, the manuscript will receive one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. Accepted manuscripts undergo a final similarity re-check using Turnitin (max 20%) before publication.

  • Publication ethics and Turnitin plagiarism compliance (Max 20%).

Editorial Policy

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts during the initial screening if they fall outside JATIKA's scope, fail to meet ethical or formatting requirements, exceed the 20% Turnitin similarity threshold, or do not demonstrate sufficient scientific quality. The Editor-in-Chief's decision regarding publication is final.
