ANALISIS TINGKAT KECELAKAAN DAN DAERAH RAWAN KECELAKAAN DI KABUPATEN LAMPUNG SELATAN
Abstract
Data from the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, South Lampung indicates that in 2022, more than 26,000 fatalities were recorded due to road traffic accidents, an increase from 25,266 fatalities in the previous year. In 2023, approximately 77% of accident victims were from the age group of 15 to 59 years. This study aims to determine the accident rate, identify the contributing factors to traffic accidents, and locate accident-prone areas in South Lampung Regency. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis, which is employed to illustrate or explain a phenomenon based on collected data. The results show that the highest fatality index occurred in 2018, with a value of 16.76, while the highest severity index was also recorded in 2018 at 0.49. The highest accident rate per kilometer was found at Jalan Lintas Sumatera km 36 in Talang Baru Village, with an accident index of 5.2. The main contributing factors to accidents include drivers’ non-compliance with traffic regulations and violations of designated speed limits. Accident-prone areas in South Lampung Regency are located at Jalan Lintas Sumatera km 24 in Tarahan Village, Katibung District, and km 18 in Rangai Tri Tunggal Village. Black links in the region include Campang Tiga, Pemanggilan, Rangai Tri Tunggal, Talang Baru, and Tarahan.
