ANALISIS KAPASITAS SIMPANG TAK BERSINYAL MENGGUNAKAN DUKUNGAN SOFTWARE PTV VISSIM DI KAWASAN BALIREJO KELURAHAN ANGSAU
Abstract
This study evaluates the operational performance of the unsignalized Balirejo intersection using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (PKJI) 2023 approach and is validated through microscopic simulation with PTV VISSIM software. Traffic observations were conducted over three representative days—Monday, Saturday, and Sunday—covering three peak periods (morning, midday, and afternoon). Data collected included vehicle volumes by type and movement direction, as well as geometric parameters of the intersection. The analysis revealed that Monday exhibited the highest traffic volume, reaching 4,087 pcu/hour, with a degree of saturation (DS) of 1.31, indicating an oversaturated condition (LOS F). Intersection arm capacities varied, with the highest capacity observed on Datu Insyad Street at 5,746 pcu/hour. Average delay calculated using the PKJI method was 16 seconds per vehicle, while VISSIM simulation produced a consistent result of 19.68 seconds per vehicle (LOS C). The findings suggest that the intersection operates under unstable conditions on weekdays and requires traffic engineering interventions. The consistency between analytical and simulation results demonstrates that both approaches are complementary and may be effectively used in tandem to support adaptive and data-driven traffic management planning.
