JICE JOURNAL POLICIES

Privacy and Personal Information

The Journal of Infrastructural in Civil Engineering (JICE), published by Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, respects the privacy of authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and other users of its online journal platform.

Personal information submitted to the journal is used for legitimate editorial, publication, communication, and journal administration purposes. JICE does not sell personal information or use it for unrelated commercial marketing. This statement explains how relevant information is handled through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

PURPOSE-LIMITED USE

Data support journal registration, editorial work, and scholarly publishing.

CONFIDENTIAL REVIEW

Unpublished manuscripts and review records are handled within the editorial workflow.

TRANSPARENT CONTACT

Users may contact the editorial office about their personal information.

01

Information Collected

Account details and information needed to administer scholarly submissions.

Information entered by users may include names, email addresses, usernames, institutional affiliations, country, and other profile details, such as an ORCID iD when provided.

For authors, reviewers, and editors, OJS may also hold submission metadata, manuscript and supplementary files, reviewer assignments, editorial correspondence, and peer-review records.

02

Purposes of Data Use

Personal information is processed for activities connected with operating the journal.

  • Managing journal accounts, registration, authentication, and user communication.
  • Receiving and evaluating manuscripts, organizing peer review, and recording editorial decisions.
  • Preparing, publishing, indexing, and preserving accepted scholarly articles and their bibliographic metadata.
  • Supporting journal administration, responding to inquiries, and maintaining the reliability of the publishing record.

Author names, affiliations, and other publication metadata may become publicly accessible after an article is published as part of the scholarly record.

03

Confidentiality and Information Sharing

Different stages of publishing require different levels of access.

Unpublished manuscripts, reviewer reports, and editorial correspondence are treated as confidential materials. Access should be limited to authorized journal personnel and those carrying out legitimate editorial or technical duties.

JICE has implemented double-blind peer review since February 2026. During review, the editorial team takes steps to keep authors' identities from reviewers and reviewers' identities from authors, in accordance with the journal's review procedures.

Information may be disclosed when necessary for journal operation, including to authorized institutional technical administrators and relevant publication, DOI-registration, or indexing services. Disclosure may also occur when required by applicable law. JICE does not disclose personal data for unrelated advertising or commercial sale.

04

Technical Information and Data Protection

OJS and its hosting environment may process technical information for site operation.

Depending on the website configuration, essential session cookies, server logs, and technical information such as IP addresses may be processed to maintain user sessions, troubleshoot errors, and support platform administration.

The journal works with relevant institutional technical administrators on appropriate access controls, backup arrangements, and data protection practices. No online system can guarantee absolute security; concerns involving account access or personal information should be reported to the editorial office.

05

Data Retention and the Scholarly Record

Journal records may be retained to preserve publication integrity and editorial accountability.

Account and editorial information is retained as needed for journal operations, legitimate administrative requirements, and applicable legal or archival obligations. Retention and technical deletion depend in part on the institutional OJS infrastructure.

Author attribution and bibliographic information associated with published articles form part of the permanent scholarly record. Requests to remove or change such information are assessed in light of scholarly record integrity, journal policies, and applicable legal requirements.

06

Access, Correction, and Privacy Requests

Users may contact the journal about personal information associated with their account.

Users may update information available in their OJS profile and may contact the editorial office to request access to, correction of, or—where legally and technically appropriate—deletion of personal information. The journal will consider each request in accordance with applicable requirements and the need to preserve a reliable publication record.

For privacy questions or requests, contact the JICE editorial office at arniza@teknokrat.ac.id or consult the Contact page.

07

Policy Review and Updates

The statement will be reviewed as journal practices and technical arrangements develop.

JICE may revise this Privacy Statement when its editorial procedures, OJS configuration, institutional arrangements, or applicable privacy requirements change. Updated information will be made available on this page.
